Deer Park Church Ministers Visit and pray in Charlotte Preparing for church planting

CHALLOTTE

Deer Park Community Church in Raleigh is seeking to expand ( start new church ) in up to  two major cities in North Carolina in 2017. Charlotte is the first city we are looking at right now.  Pastors Frank and Leah   visited Charlotte this weekend and prayed.  They visited the downtown area, UNC Charlotte campus, Central  Piedmont Community college and the Billy Gram Library.

Charlotte is the largest city in the State of North Carolina with a population of 809,958 in 2014.  It is home to the corporate headquarters of Bank of America and the east coast operations of Wells Fargo. This along with other financial institutions makes it the second-largest banking center in the United States.  Charlotte also has a large population of Chinese compared to other cities in North Carolina.  According to the 2010 United States Census, the racial composition of Charlotte was: White or Caucasian: 45.1%, Black or African American: 35.0%, Hispanic: 13.1%, Asian: 5.0%.UNC Charlotte is the largest institution of higher education in the Charlotte region with 28,721 students.  Central Piedmont Community College system has more than 70,000 students making it one of the largest community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System.There is a large American Born Asian population in the nearby area which will be a good place for the future church to be "Planted".After touring the city, the ministers visited the Billy Gram library and learned the precious history of the ministry of Billy Gram.
