Minister Leah delivered the message titled "Only one thing is needed" taken from Luke 10:38-41 on the Sunday Service of November 4th, 2019. "Jesus came to the household of Martha and Mary and Mather who love Jesus quickly went to prepare dinners for the guest while Mary just seat at the Lord's feet and listening to what he said. There must be many things to be done that Martha became worried and upset that she wanted Mary to come to help her. Yet Jesus did not told tell Mary to go instead said that what she is chosen is better that it will not be taken away. The passage shows the very priority of our faith. more then serving and what we can do for God, what is even more important is to listen to His word. Jesus is not saying that serving is bad, or it is not needed, but if we skip the time to listen to his word only being occupied by things we do, it is not what he wanted. There are many people think that it is more practical to help people and serve the community then just seat at church and listen to message. To those people who think like that, Jesus is saying that this is not right.
It is said in Matthew 16:26 "For what does a man have if he gets all the world and loses his own soul? What can a man give to buy back his soul?" God value each one of our soul more then anything in this world. But Satan always try to tempt us just as the temptation of bread recorded in Matthew 4 that he want us to leave the path of faith to pursuit the material gain. It is easy for us to become occupied by things in the world that we push the time to spend with God to the very back. We can be easily occupied by all kind of worry when our focus are on those first dimensional things. But Jesus remind us the priority of life to seek God and His kingdom first that he will provide all things we need."
"It is great example to hear that people who are so rich but were still not happy and depressed and take drugs. It is only God who can truly satisfy us. I have become a Christians but through the study, I realize that I need to become more close to God to grow in faith by listening His word" Thomas shared.
